Red Bull are very happy with the results Yuki Tsunoda is achieving with RB to start the F1 2024 season
Red Bull is praising Yuki Tsunoda greatly for his VCARB 01 performance, which is yielding a number of outstanding results. The 23-year-old driver is still improving as he combines his incredible speed with excellent consistency and maturity. After the Japanese GP, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko expressed his satisfaction with Tsunoda’s progress.
Just over two weeks prior, Yuki Tsunoda had a very successful weekend on teammate Daniel Ricciardo’s home field. After a post-race penalty for Alonso moved him up to P7, he finished the race in P8 at Australia’s Albert Park with six points.
This outcome was especially noteworthy considering the fierce competition in the F1 midfield in 2024. For a squad like VCARB, every point matters because the top five teams are comfortably ahead of the bottom five. It was therefore imperative that the Racing Bulls tandem capitalize on Melbourne’s DNFs in order to win points.
In Suzuka, points were much harder to come by. After Lance Stroll’s dismal qualifying performance in his Aston Martin, the only feasible opening was to take P10. Tsunoda secured his first-ever home point in Japan with a combination of lightning-fast acceleration and superb overtakes.
