She’s Brazilian and Dutch
1988 saw Piquet’s birth in Germany. Before migrating to Brazil, where her father is from, at the age of twelve, she lived in the South of France as a youngster with her mother, Dutch model Sylvia Tamsma. Piquet attended a school in England for her high school education, but she completed her final year of study in Brazil. Following graduation, the 17-year-old went to Marymount Manhattan College in New York City to pursue her international relations major.
She traveled to Brazil in November 2021 with Verstappen and Penelope, her daughter. Piquet posted a number of images from the journey to Instagram, one of which showed Verstappen seated next to her daughter.

Piquet began her career in the fashion industry while she was living in New York City. She worked as a buyer for Bergdorf Goodman and as a style assistant at Vogue Latin America. She also pursued a career in modeling, following in her mother’s footsteps, working with labels including Louis Vuitton, PatBo, and Pepe Jeans. She is an F1 legacy
Nelson Piquet was an F1 driver in the 1980s. He is regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time and is a three-time World Champion.
Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton criticized Nelson on Twitter in June 2022 following the release of an interview from 2021 in which the retired driver made racial disparaging remarks about Hamilton. Nelson was allegedly barred from the F1 paddock as a result.
Nelson Jr., Piquet’s brother, competes in Formula One racing. In 2020, she shared a throwback photo of her brother on Instagram with the message, “Happy Birthday @piquetjr 🎉🎈 You are and will always be my first bully ♥️😂 #35.”
She has a child with F1 driver Daniil Kvyat
Piquet, who was dating Formula One driver Daniil Kvyat, welcomed a daughter, Penelope, in July 2019. Kvyat finished third at the German Grand Prix, securing his first podium in three years the day after Penelope was born. The driver gave Piquet and their infant son his full attention after winning the race.
Piquet frequently posts pictures of her daughter, Penelope, referring to her as a “superstar” and a “ray of sunshine.” Penelope’s third birthday party had a mermaid theme, and Piquet released a few pictures from it in July 2022. Early in 2021, the pair shared their first Instagram picture together. Verstappen shared a photo of himself and Piquet on the beach with a note about the future on January 1. Piquet has taken business and pleasure trips throughout the world, from Paris to Tokyo. However, she resides in Monaco with Verstappen and her daughter, Penelope.

Though the couple has been together since 2020, Verstappen told the German magazine Blick in December 2023 that “time will tell” if he and Piquet go down the aisle. She and Verstappen are not in a rush to tie the knot.
“Wed? Me? You’ve now openly coerced me into providing a date! I’m not sure; only time will tell. I’m really, really pleased with Kelly right now, but I don’t have a set date for when I’ll bow down before her. All of this should happen naturally,” he stated, as reported by Sportskeeda.
Later on, he remarked, “I don’t know, as I said. We will reach a point where we feel ready to officially register our partnership.”
