The Baltimore Ravens selected Marlon Humphrey with the No. 16 overall pick in 2017—the last time they selected a cornerback in the first round. Seven years later, could they reach into that well once more to find his replacement? In their mock draft, CBS Sports projected the Ravens to choose Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins with the thirtyth overall choice.

With two interceptions—one of which he ran back for a touchdown—two forced fumbles, and six passes defensed, the 6-foot-2 junior cornerback set career highs. With an interception, 13 passes deflected, and a career-high 25 tackles—two of which were for a loss—Wiggins continued to play effectively in 2022. Wiggins was selected by the conference for the first team of the All-ACC. Additionally, he was named to the AP, USA Today, and Pro Football Focus first teams in the ACC. Humphrey had a fantastic 2022 season, matching a career-high three interceptions and recording a career-best three sacks in 17 games. However, several lower-body ailments kept him off the field in 2023, as he missed eight games, including one in the playoffs. His pectoral muscle tear also kept him out of the last five games of the 2021 campaign. Baltimore’s contract with Humphrey will probably need to be restructured if it hopes to retain important free agents on defense this summer.
