Although Robinson didn’t do much at first, he developed into a crucial run-blocker for them as the season went on. Although he fits the Arthur Smith system nicely, his cap hit makes it unjustifiable to retain him at that price. Perhaps they will work out a new deal to keep him in Pittsburgh, but it looks like it will happen shortly. They incur less than $2 million in dead money with his release, saving them $10 million on the cap.

Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has mentioned Spencer Anderson as a strong candidate to start at right tackle for the Steelers. In a recent conversation, Fittipaldo stated that you can’t count out the seventh-round pick coming into training camp.
