At this point, Mike Weir might never leave Hawaii. After being married to Michelle Money, a former bachelor in Aloha State, the former Masters champion scored his first ace at Hualalai Golf Course as a betrothed man. The phrase “thank you very much” is mahalo nui loa.

Weir hit a flawless tee shot on the par-3 17th hole while competing in the pro-am at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship. He then watched as the ferocious wind blasted his ball straight into the cup. We have video proof of the entire event; however, if you prefer to be able to hear things, we advise lowering the level a little. Just a brief warning.

Well, Weir remarked, “It was really fun yesterday on the 17th hole.” “It was evidently a really challenging day. As I teed off, I told my caddie, Danny, that it would be a good shot if I could just cover the bunker on the left and get it somewhere in the middle of the green, considering the wind speed of almost thirty miles per hour.

I simply threw a wedge out there, 30 yards to the left of the pin, and it continued coming in. “Well, it looks pretty good,” I thought. You know, when it fell, it appeared like it was going to be a tight shot, but you never thought it would be a hole-in-one. It was very awesome.

Weir’s winning throw was a pitching wedge from 157 yards, but you have to give Mother Nature equal credit for the shot.
