As the 30th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens chose Clemson safety Nate Wiggins. This set the tone for the rest of the draft. With their first pick, the Ravens hoped Wiggins would be there, but they knew he wouldn’t be. That’s why it was easy for the Ravens to pick a player who fits in well with their team and fills a big need when the time came. ESPN just put together a list of the best fits from the NFL Draft, and Wiggins was named Baltimore’s best fit. “Veteran Marlon Humphrey enters his age-28 season at cornerback, and the Ravens are looking for consistency opposite him,” the site says. “In Wiggins, Baltimore gets a 6-foot-2 safety with 4.28 speed. Along with that, he brings a hustle and hunger to the position that fits with how Baltimore plays defense. Wiggins needs to keep getting stronger, but his speed and ability to get rid of targets will get him into the starting group right away. Wiggins is pretty strong now, but he needs to put on some weight to play CB in the NFL. Wiggins is one of the smallest cornerbacks in the NFL. He weighs 175 pounds. However, the Ravens aren’t concerned about his size, thinking he will grow in the coming years. Wiggins is only 20 years old, making him one of the youngest in the league, but also one of the players with the most untapped promise. That’s about everything you could want for the Ravens as they hope to continue their run at the top of the AFC North.
