The Saints missed the postseason in 2023, but with the right acquisitions in the NFL Draft, they might return to the top of the NFC South.
Currently, the odds favor the offensive line as the Saints’ preferred position, with FanDuel Sportsbook ranking it as the overwhelming favorite for the position of New Orleans’ first drafted player.
#NFLDraft Analyst Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) says he’s not sleeping on Howie Roseman and the Eagles as an aggressive team in next week’s draft.
He noted the Commanders and Saints to potentially be aggressive as well.

Fashanu is an ideal fit for the Saints, who also have Taliese Fuaga on their roster. With the draft board likely leaning toward quarterbacks and pass catchers early on, the Saints can easily add an offensive lineman later. With that in mind, the Saints are -270 to spend their first-round pick on an offensive lineman.
However, the Saints have other options and could choose to sign the best player available. While the odds are long, defensive lineman (or edge) is +500 and wide receiver +900.
As Katherine Terrell points out in her ESPN.com draft preview for the Saints, the team is desperate to replenish its offensive line. However, there are other needs on the squad, such as filling the wide receiver position around Chris Olave after losing Michael Thomas in free agency.
It’s worth mentioning that Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com believes the Saints might be one of the most active teams in next week’s selection.
