With regard to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless, sports television personality Shannon Sharpe has been vocal about his preference for one over the other. He argues that both have different programming approaches.

Shortly before Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, the three-time NFL champion talked to Yahoo Sports about his year of transition. He had switched from co-hosting Bayless’ “Undisputed” to Smith’s “First Take” seven years earlier.

When Sharpe first met Smith and Bayless, he remarked, “Oh, you know what the thing is: they’re very different.” “I was mostly debating with Skip.” My conversation with Stephen A. has increased.

You must understand that there were very few occasions that Skip and I had company when discussing the subject, which is why there are more individuals present. It was just the two of us. You understood my point, or you understood his.

Thus, the reason I’m nervous is because Stephen A. is going to engage in some dispute, and we’re going to stop playing football. Some basketball discussions are about to start.

I’ll return later with some more insightful responses, I promise. However, it will be incredibly fascinating.

After praising Bayless, his previous debate partner, Sharpe called the 72-year-old “the godfather” of the debate style. Bayless and Smith collaborated on ESPN’s “First Take” for nine years until 2016.

Prior to the Chiefs’ game against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl this coming Sunday, the Denver Broncos great also referred to Travis Kelce as the “GOAT.”

“If you look at his accomplishments and his longevity, he has the most playoff catches.” They have the most touchdowns as a tandem, with him and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Regarding the Chiefs tandem, Sharpe responded, “It’s just hard for me to say somebody has done it as well for as long,” when asked to draw comparisons with the former Patriots and Bucs receivers Rob Gronkowski and Tom Brady. Naturally, this is not meant as a slight to any of the other greats.

“[Gronkowski’s] actions are known to us… But when it comes to stats, numbers, and yards, Travis Kelce can equal him. In my opinion, Gronk received two, and Trav received one.
