The only player listed as out for either club is Lee (right meniscus surgery). The guard for the Suns missed the whole regular season and is still sidelined, though he may return during the postseason.

This year, the No. 6 Suns defeated the No. 3 Timberwolves 3-0 in the regular season series and never trailed in the second half of any of these three games. The Suns last won the season finale at Target Center, which coincidentally started at 12:30, with a decisive score of 125-106.

At the end of the season, Minnesota led the league in fewest points allowed per game (106.5), opponent field goal percentage (45%), and defensive rating (points allowed per 100 possessions), finishing at 108.4.

These figures fell to a 123.7 defensive rating (which is the lowest of any club this season through 82 games), 118.3 points allowed per game, and a 53.0% allowed field goal percentage in three games versus the Suns.

The Timberwolves are 30-11 at home this season, while the Suns are 24-17 on the road. The first game of the series will take place in Minnesota.
