Bruno Fernandes, the captain of Manchester United, received high marks from BBC pundit Garth Crooks for his performance in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

Crooks also asserted that English forward Marcus Rashford would be the best player in the world if he had the Portuguese midfielder’s hunger and mindset for the game.

With his teammates struggling, the 29-year-old’s two equalizing draws with the Red Devils ensured his club departed Vitality Stadium with a point. His performance was especially noteworthy.

Despite his best efforts, Rashford was unable to impact the proceedings, and Crooks feels that he is too brilliant to not be performing consistently at the level of a world-class player.

Bruno Fernandes gives his all every time he plays for Manchester United, regardless of what you may think of him, the BBC analyst stated in his Team of the Week piece.

If Fernandes hadn’t had a never-say-die mentality, Bournemouth would have won this game easily.

If Marcus Rashford had the same hunger and passion for the game as his captain, he would be the greatest player in the world. Although I have always been one of Rashford’s biggest supporters, he ought to be doing for United what Kylian Mbappe is doing for PSG at the moment, but he appears to have lost the will to fight.

Yes, he does his part, but he appears to have lost his path and is far more talented than his recent performances show. It amazes me that neither Fernandes nor Casemiro have been able to motivate or encourage him. Having said that, if you require inspiration each time you don a Manchester United red shirt, then something is seriously wrong.
After finishing 2022–23 with 30 goals in all competitions, Rashford was frequently linked to Paris Saint-Germain throughout the summer. However, his eight goals in 39 games would not have impressed them or any other potential suitors.

The 26-year-old has pledged his long-term future to Man United and wants to stay, but despite his lackluster play this season, his overall body

Due to his poor performances, Rashford might not make the England squad for the European Championship in June. This would be a great shame considering his amazing skill.

The Man United academy graduate only needs to start doing better both on and off the field because if he doesn’t live up to the high expectations placed on him, then it will all be his fault.
