Ten Hag is under rising pressure following Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected to recruit a new manager this summer.
Several players indicated that contract decisions were being delayed owing to managerial instability.
A number of Manchester United players are deferring decisions about their futures because they are ‘convinced’ manager Erik ten Hag will be fired, according to a report.

Ten Hag’s position has been under significant pressure since Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS arrived at Old Trafford earlier this year, with tensions rising amid a string of disappointing results, the most recent of which being a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the weekend.

With United on track for their lowest Premier League finish ever, the Manchester Evening News reports that numerous players are confident Ten Hag will not be in charge of the club next season.

Certain members of the squad are expected to change managers, therefore they are waiting decisions about their own futures until they know who will be in the dugout next year.

There is no mention of which players agree with this stance, but United has several players nearing the end of their contracts and facing unclear futures this summer, and there is a reluctance to make any decisions until Ten Hag’s status is determined.

Ten Hag has openly stated that he is confident he will remain in charge of United next season, but Ratcliffe has reluctant to make any definite remarks about the manager’s future.

INEOS executives have also been looking at potential replacements in case they decide to break ways with Ten Hag this summer, with England manager Gareth Southgate among those connected with the move to Old Trafford.

Ten Hag will reach the final year of his £9 million contract this summer, therefore United officials would have to agree on a compensation amount to get out of Ten Hag’s term.
