Work with MLB continues even though there were no Oakland Athletics-related topics on the agenda for Thursday’s Las Vegas Stadium Authority Board of Directors meeting.

The A’s items about their proposed $1.5 billion facility are anticipated to be discussed in the team’s next scheduled meeting in February or March, according to stadium authority chairman Steve Hill.

“The Raiders are undoubtedly on the agenda today, and we’re still in contact with the A’s,” Hill stated. “Those discussions are progressing nicely. At our upcoming board meeting, we plan to bring back the leasing agreement, the community benefits agreement, and maybe the initial draft of the non-relocation agreement. We will not be introducing the development agreement at our upcoming board meeting.

All of those agreements have to be in place before the $380 million in public cash that Senate Bill 1 designated last summer could be released and before work on the proposed 33,000-seat ballpark could start. The goal is for work to begin in early 2025 and for the 9 acres of the 35-acre Tropicana hotel property to be completed.

Since fans were initially let inside the $2 billion facility in mid-2021, Allegiant Stadium events have attracted 3.6 million spectators.

The stadium authority tracked events from September 2021 to September 2021 and included them in the total.

22 Raiders home games set a record with 1.2 million spectators during that period at the 62,500-seat stadium. Based on data from the stadium authority, there have been 26 concerts that have drawn over 1.1 million attendees and 24 other major events that have drawn significant crowds. For example, special soccer matches and the NFL Pro Bowl have drawn 828,159 people, while 15 UNLV football games have drawn 212,739 people. Since the stadium has been open, 373 smaller private events totaling 210,638 have been added to the total.

In the latest quarterly attendance data covering July through September, 428,727 spectators were present at stadium events.

The Raiders game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 24 drew 58,964 spectators, making it the most attended event during that time. Of those, attendees from outside the area made up 64%. Of them, 93% claimed that their primary motivation for traveling was the game. Not surprisingly, the game was StubHub’s fifth best-selling event of the previous year.

With 54,369 attendees, the Raiders preseason game versus the 49ers on August 13 was the second-highest in the third quarter. Stadium authority statistics indicate that visitors made up about 45 percent of the attendance at that game.

Beyonce’s concert on August 26 was the third most popular event of the quarter, with the greatest number of out-of-state guests—66 percent of the 44,702 attendees were not from Las Vegas.

According to Hill, the stadium is surpassing the number of incremental visitors—that is, individuals whose primary purpose for visiting Las Vegas was to attend an event at Allegiant Stadium—that it attracted in its initial years of existence.

According to Hill, “We modeled 450,000 additional visitors (per year) when we modeled Allegiant Stadium.” “In only the third quarter of 2023, there have been almost 190,000 more visits in that period. You can see why we believe Allegiant Stadium has outperformed the original model after looking at four-quarters of that. Additionally, what was initially modeled

We believed it was well worth the $750 million spent to build the stadium.
