Schenk’s second shot on the par-5 15th hole on the opening day of play at Pete Dye Stadium Course went straight into a fan’s drink.
With the ball still floating inside, fan Brad Harmeyer lifted the cup and drank from it. According to the PGA Tour, it was filled with vodka and cranberries.
Schenk, who had free relief, pitched to ten feet out and then made a birdie putt, so whatever Harmeyer toasted seemed to work.
Harmeyer assured him, “You have nothing to be sorry about.”
After everything was said and done, the couple had a picture taken together, and his wife Kourtney, who was trailing him on the course, took a picture of Harmeyer’s cup.
