Pittsburgh There have been moments this offseason when Antonio Brown, who is dabbling in national reporting, has been correct. His next prediction is that Justin Simmons, a free agent safety, will sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, or at least lean that way.

As the NFL Draft draws near, Simmons is leaning toward joining the Steelers, according to a tweet from Brown’s second X account, CTESPN. Brown stated that a deal “could be done soon.”

Different reports claim that the Steelers are out on Simmons after signing DeShon Elliott, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Elliott, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Damontae Kazee, and Miles Killebrew are the current members of Pittsburgh’s safety room.

Simmons wouldn’t be useful in the slot cornerback position, which may be the team’s final defensive need. Elliott or Kazee, who are both skilled in the nickel role, might be able to take over with his addition.

Simmons’ one-year contract is expected to be around $11 million. Given that Pittsburgh is now barely retaining $11 million, any contract would probably be for lower pay.
