The Baltimore Ravens made several significant adjustments this offseason to clear financial space.

They traded Morgan Moses. They terminated Odell Beckham Jr.’s contract.

The Ravens also released Tyus Bowser.

It turns out that they will not be saving as much cap room as they had hoped by signing one of those guys.

According to Brian McDonald of Russell Street Report, Bowser has filed a grievance with the Ravens since he was not paid for the 2023 season after being placed on the reserve/non-football injury list.

What it Means for Baltimore

According to McDonald, the grievance will result in a $1.8 million reduction to their cap space in 2024. He does not expect the issue to be resolved until 2025.

This would imply that the cut will be in effect throughout the upcoming season.

If they win the case, they will receive a credit for their wage cap in 2025. If they lose, they will be charged an additional $2.7 million.
The $1.8 million isn’t a tremendous cost, but it’s also far from ideal for a Ravens team that still needs to address some roster gaps.
