This week, the Los Angeles Chargers reportedly hosted a free-agent visit from a former Pro Bowl wide receiver.

DJ Chark visited the Chargers on Thursday, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Chark caught 30 catches for 502 yards and three touchdowns over 11 games with the Detroit Lions in 2022.

Chark’s career began with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who selected him in the second round in 2018. He burst out in his second season in 2019, catching 73 passes for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns, earning him a Pro Bowl invitation. He’s been unreliable since.

The Chargers lost Mike Williams to free agency this offseason and later traded Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears. Many people expect them to choose a wide receiver early, and head coach Jim Harbuagh may even have a secret plan to assist him find the finest one possible.

Despite being only 27, Chark’s chances of becoming a No. 1 receiver appear limited. He is unlikely to be a replacement for Williams or Allen, but he might contribute in a Justin Herbert-led attack.
