During the regular season, the Dolphins were unstoppable offensively, thanks in large part to Tyreek Hill and Raheem Mostert, but they were unable to disguise the team’s defensive struggles.

Miami’s defense was strong for most of the season, but injuries destroyed them down the line, and they were unable to generate enough stops to win the game.

Outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips tore his Achilles in November, marking one of the Dolphins’ most significant losses.

Phillips has been a rising star on the Miami defense and is extremely productive when rushing the quarterback, so his absence was noticeable.

However, Phillips appears to be making tremendous progress in his recuperation, as he has stated that he will be ready for the start of the 2024 NFL season, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

“Dolphins linebacker Jaelan Phillips, recovering from his Black Friday torn Achilles, tells ESPN during UM spring game that ‘I’ll definitely be back healthy for the season,'” Jackson said on his Twitter account.

Modern medicine has made it easier for athletes like Phillips to comeback from Achilles problems, and he appears to be confident that he will be ready for Week 1.

While he may not look like himself immediately away, it is encouraging that he will be able to contribute in some fashion on the field.

A healthy Phillips and a revised defensive scheme might transform the Dolphins into a playoff contender.
