Given the prospect of starting the 2024 season catching passes from journeyman quarterback Sam Darnold, it’s hard to blame Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson for envying the majority of the NFL’s other top quarterback-receiver combinations.

However, during an interview with Kevin Hart on the “Cold As Balls” podcast, Jefferson confessed that there is one pairing that makes him yearn: Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

“I love them together,” Jefferson explained. “I love the chemistry that they have with each other, but it’s definitely some jealousy on that side.”

Of again, given that Jefferson, Chase, and Burrow were teammates on LSU’s 2019 national championship-winning team, it’s possible that he’s experiencing FOMO (fear of missing out) instead.

Burrow threw for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns, setting an NCAA record at the time. Jefferson was his leading receiver, with 111 catches, 1,540 yards, and 18 touchdowns, while Chase had 84 grabs, 1,780 yards, and 20 touchdowns.

Though there is a friendly on-field rivalry between Jefferson and Chase, who could be said to be two of the best five wide receivers in the NFL, Jefferson stated that he is still very close to his former colleague.
