A new golf invention has been developed by Audi and Sky Media as part of their ongoing media collaboration with Sky Sports.

The Swing Design Sequence gives viewers insight into top golfers’ approaches to help them play the game better themselves.

Today marks the launch of the Audi Performance Zone during Sky Sports’ coverage of the RBC Heritage, which is being recorded in a recently constructed Sky Sports Golf studio. Viewers will be able to witness Audi’s innovative relationship in action during the summer when it covers golf tournaments such as the Wyndham, John Deere Classic, 3M Open, and Zurich Classic in addition to RBC Heritage.

In order to provide the technology that will turn slow-motion video into avatars that are enhanced with data and analyzed by professional coaches to explain how synchronization of the component parts of a golf swing can maximize performance, Sky Sports has partnered with the skeletal tracking software company Sportsbox AI. Golf enthusiasts will get a distinct comprehension of how the world’s top players generate speed, balance, power, and accuracy, and they can utilize these insights to enhance their own game.

The innovative elements are part of Audi’s renewal as Sky Sports’ Official Innovation Partner, an agreement mediated between Omnicom Media Group’s PHD and Sky Media. We are now in our third year of partnership.

The new Swing Design Sequence, which was developed in collaboration with Sky Sports and Audi, will debut in the Audi Performance Zone in 2024.

“Working with Audi has become a true partnership, and it’s great to see it continue into its third year,” stated Karin Seymour, Director of Planning at Sky Media. The joint effort enhances the viewing experience while also flawlessly integrating Audi into our top-notch content.

Innovation lies at the core of Audi’s DNA, which is “Vorsprung durch Technik,” according to Tony Moore, Head of Marketing, Audi UK. As its official innovation partner, Sky Sports and we continue to offer a distinctive and powerful platform that showcases our leadership in this field. The way the partnership is performing and the stories it is bringing to life have us utterly delighted.

The growth of golf technology and the continuation of the collaboration follow two years of creative success. The Power Meter, a product of Audi’s “Vorsprung durch Technik,” powered The Hundred, the most avant-garde cricket format on Sky Sports, in 2022.
