How could the Miami Dolphins offseason pass without inquiries concerning Tua Tagovailoa, the starting quarterback? It can be his weight gain or loss, jiu-jitsu courses, weight fluctuations, concussions, excessive golfing, or his overall status among the best quarterbacks.

It never stops and eventually catches up with everyone connected to the squad. Christian Wilkins, a former defensive tackle for the Dolphins who made the Pro Bowl, is the most recent athlete to get tagged.

Wilkins discussed his massive contract with the Las Vegas Raiders on Arik Armstead’s “Third and Long” podcast. Armstead questioned Wilkins about his previous QB and whether he was “overrated” during their appearance on the show.

Wilkins continues to compliment Tua’s development, stating that he has had a front-row seat to watch him develop into the player he is today.

He doesn’t explicitly address the question, but it’s a perfectly acceptable corporate response. I say that because it’s easy to state unequivocally that he isn’t overrated. He was circling the issue, and I fail to see why.

Wilkins concludes by enumerating a few of Tua’s achievements, such as his Pro Bowl selection and inclusion in the MVP debate. He also makes reference to Cam Newton’s claim that Tua was merely a game manager when he talks about how your position in the scheme doesn’t matter. In my opinion, that’s sufficient recognition for his former QB while still remaining undecided.

Please share your opinions with us in the comments section on Christian Wilkin’s response to the query of whether Tua is overvalued.
