Deonte Harty (previously Harris) was a key player for the New Orleans Saints a couple seasons back. He was a premier punt returner, but the Saints released him at the end of his contract. Harty had 150 receiving yards for the Buffalo Bills in 2023.
Harty has hinted at a possible comeback to the Saints via social media.
Harty is a talented special teams player who can also produce dramatic plays on offense despite limited touches.
His most impressive professional season was with New Orleans in 2021. Harty had 570 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns that season. 2019 was his most impressive special teams campaign with the Saints.
The Saints need more depth at wide out. That being said, Rashid Shaheed has returned, and no one in the NFC does it better. Whether or whether Harty returns, he will continue in that role.
We’ll see if Harty can work out a deal to return to New Orleans.
