That’s why former Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley turned to Twitter to deny the narrative, claiming that the Bills have had plenty of successful teams in the past and that he hasn’t been asked to compete on his own.
Perhaps the contentious wideout overlooked the fact that the meme he reacted to was about the upcoming season, not the past.
Allen has had plenty of skill on both sides of the field; this is a fact.
It’s also true that he shouldn’t be held accountable for his team’s postseason struggles, as he’s consistently done his job.
Also, the Bills are in a terrible wage cap situation, so they had to make some difficult decisions and let numerous players depart.
Allen will most likely rely heavily on WR Curtis Samuel and TEs Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid, with RB James Cook also expected to play a larger part in the offense in the future.
However, it is not exactly an elite supporting cast, especially with two other Super Bowl candidates in the same division, so as much as Beasley may dislike it, Allen will mostly be on his own out there.
