The Buffalo Bills’ receiving corps has suffered significantly this offseason. Gabe Davis left the Bills for the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency, and they later dealt top target Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.

Buffalo’s receivers are now Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, Justin Shorter, and Andy Isabella — not an inspiring bunch of names, especially for a team with annual Super Bowl dreams.

The Bills have one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL in Josh Allen, but it appears that Allen will start the 2024 season without the established skill at wide out that he has grown accustomed to.

Sure, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs were able to win the last two Super Bowls despite a lack of star power at wide receiver, but that is not necessarily a formula of success that will be replicated by other teams throughout the league.

So, the issue is: what can the Bills do to improve their receiving corps before the season begins? Well, the Bengals have a talented wide receiver looking for a trade; perhaps the two parties can reach an agreement.

Could Tee Higgins land in Buffalo?
There aren’t many star-level receivers available at this point in the offseason, so if the Bengals want to acquire a top target for Allen in ’24, trading for Higgins could be their best option.

Higgins wanted a trade away from the Bengals at the start of free agency, but the team has been unwilling to make a deal involving the star wide receiver. However, if they receive the proper offer, they may reconsider their position.

Higgins is five years younger than Diggs, and he will also be seeking a new contract next offseason. So, if the Bills traded for him with the purpose of extending his contract, they could keep him for the most of his prime years. This would assure that Allen has a top receiver to work with for the foreseeable future.

However, there are several significant barriers to reaching an agreement between Cincinnati and Buffalo.
