Vontae obtained a college football scholarship and reached the NFL after three years, thanks to some advice from his older brother Vernon (a two-time Pro Bowl tight end).
The Miami Dolphins drafted Davis in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft, but he was moved to the Indianapolis Colts after three seasons.

Davis played six seasons for the Colts before signing a one-year, $5 million contract with the Bills. However, the Illinois alum’s stay in Buffalo was brief. It lasted six quarters.
