In the end, A.K. might return.

According to several sources, Anthony Kim will return to the professional ranks at LIV Golf Jeddah. Kim’s potential comeback has been the subject of rumors for the past few months. On Friday night and into Saturday morning, reports surfaced indicating that the three-time PGA Tour winner is making a comeback to professional golf. She is scheduled to play as one of two players on the LIV Golf circuit from March 1–3 at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Saudi Arabia.

The 38-year-old Kim hasn’t played since having surgery to repair his injured left Achilles tendon after the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship, but there have been long-term speculations that he may play again.

An insurance policy from his playing days would be nullified if he returned, according to one of the claimed holdups. Around $10 million is its estimated value.

But Kim will apparently be able to compete in Jeddah the following week because of LIV Golf’s new format, which includes two wild card participants. 54 players (13 teams of four players each) plus the two wild cards will compete in each tournament in 2024. Players will accumulate points in the individual standings and have the chance to eventually be selected for a LIV Golf team.

Kim has become more legendary after she appeared to vanish from the golf scene. Following a hiatus of over ten years, he is now scheduled to return.

Third up this season is LIV Golf Jeddah. In Mexico and Las Vegas earlier this month, Joaquin Niemann and Dustin Johnson emerged victorious in the first two competitions.
