Pep Guardiola has showered Ivan Toney with praise, admitting that he has not seen many strikers in the world who are as good as the rumoured Tottenham target at using their bodies to shield the ball.

Toney has proven his quality to everyone since serving his suspension for a month last month. In six games, the center forward has scored four goals (Transfermarkt).

The Bees star is reportedly one of the players Tottenham is keeping an eye on when it comes to signing a superstar number nine to take Harry Kane’s place come summer, according to a report published earlier this month by Football Insider.

The 27-year-old, who is said to be worth between £50 million and £60 million, was also mentioned by HITC a few weeks ago as one of the teams planning a summer transfer for Spurs.

The England international is reportedly being pursued by Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Chelsea, in addition to the Lilywhites. It is therefore unlikely that the striker would extend his current contract at the Gtech Community Stadium, which expires in 2025.

Ivan Toney receives big praise from Pep Guardiola

After labelling Toney as a threat prior to his team’s match against Brentford earlier this week, which the Premier League winners won 1-0, Pep Guardiola has now acknowledged that he is a huge fan of the player.
During the striker’s pre-match press conference (via One Football), the city manager stated, “He is so dangerous.” He’s one of the best I’ve ever seen, in my opinion, when it comes to using his body to finish points and link plays.

“We didn’t defend that goal well when we gave it to him a few weeks ago, but he did a great job.”

Toney is undoubtedly one of the few elite number nines in the Premier League right now; the Brentford star is among the select few who can promise 20 goals a game.

Mikel Arteta’s team is in desperate need of a quality center-forward; thus, there will be huge competition for his signing, and I predict that he will sign with Arsenal.
