The parent company of Red Bull is looking into Christian Horner after he was accused of acting inappropriately and is rumored to have been instructed to step down by former Formula One president Bernie Ecclestone.
Following an alleged incident of inappropriate behavior, it has been reported that Bernie Ecclestone has encouraged Christian Horner to resign from his position as team principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing.
The allegation against Horner has been vehemently refuted. He met with an outside investigator on Friday to present his version of the tale, and the parent company of Red Bull is currently looking into him. It is anticipated that the issue won’t be settled in time for Red Bull Racing’s season opener on February 15.
But Horner is rumored to have been encouraged to resign by former F1 chief Ecclestone. The 91-year-old ‘intervened and recommended his friend to resign’ in an effort to ‘prevent additional damage to himself and his family,’ according to F1 Insider.
Both Horner and his accuser are still employed in their current capacities, and regardless of the investigation’s conclusion, Red Bull will be severely hampered going into the 2024 campaign.
With Max Verstappen winning three straight world titles, they have been the dominant team in recent years. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Horner’s future, they are still the clear favorites going into the upcoming season.
Adrian Newey, the chief technology officer, is optimistic that this year’s RB20 car will bring them even greater success. “Our vehicle will essentially be the third iteration of the ’22 car,” he stated on the Talking Bull podcast.
“Last year’s car was an evolution of the ’22, the main points [of difference] being the normal winter development in terms of aerodynamics and some understanding of what we needed to do with suspension to try to improve the car as well as getting weight out of it, because we never got down to the weight limit in ’22.”The current model is the third iteration of the original RB18.
