Most Ravens players were forced to watch Super Bowl LVIII from their favorite sports bar or couch on Sunday, as the Chiefs defeated the 49ers. The reason I say most is that quarterback Lamar Jackson, among other noteworthy players, declared he wouldn’t be watching.

“I’m OK, too raw. I’m not interested in watching the game,” Jackson posted on social media.

That makes perfect sense because, even after two weeks, the loss must still be very painful. A former Raven, nevertheless, believes the squad can use that defeat into inspiration to improve for the upcoming campaign.

Lewis responded, “You can only come back when you get this close,” to David Andrade of Tico Sports when he was asked if the Ravens could make a run at winning the next season. This agony was felt by me. Therefore, in order for you to sense it, you must realize that I still have something to finish. I informed my team that we would return to this location the next year to complete this after going through it myself in 2011. That is the thinking, then.

Lewis has already visited. The following season, he and his Ravens team defeated the 49ers 34-31 after losing to the Patriots 23-20 in the AFC Championship game in 2011.

Lewis went on, “Beating a focused champion is difficult. And when you do lose and get back up, it feels good.”
