It is anticipated that the Chicago Bears quarterback will be contacted by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pittsburg — Justin Fields may be moving up the Pittsburgh Steelers’ priority list as they search for a quarterback this offseason. The Chicago Bears are anticipated to get a call from Pittsburgh for their previous first-round pick, according to NFL expert Benjamin Allbright.

Of the three clubs Allbright anticipates calling up for Fields, the Steelers are one. Adam Schefter of ESPN also mentioned that Pittsburgh will search outside of the organization for players to sign, as head coach Mike Tomlin is a huge fan of Fields.

Fields has had erratic trading value fluctuations. It was a second- or third-round pick in the beginning. Currently, a first-round pick is anticipated. Pittsburgh might be able to negotiate a better deal and maintain their competitiveness to sign the quarterback, though, if just three clubs make an offer.
The Steelers are looking for another veteran to compete with Kenny Pickett because it is unlikely that they will keep Mason Rudolph. As he approaches his sixth year of option play, Fields, should he be available, may arrive in Pittsburgh hoping to establish himself as the team’s next long-term starter.
