Alex Albon “hasn’t stopped growing yet,” according to James Vowles, who expressed optimism about his ability to achieve more and win over teams like Ferrari, whom the Williams star has been connected to.

With 14 drivers’ contracts expiring at the conclusion of this year, Albon’s strong results in 2022 and 2023 have made him a target for interest from several constructors. Ferrari has been said to be among those interested in the Anglo-Thai driver.

Williams, however, will be fighting to retain him because the former Red Bull driver scored 96% of the team’s points in 2023.

James Volwes highlights Alex Albon’s aptitude
Since Red Bull abandoned him, Albon has remade his career and is currently regarded as one of the grid’s most desirable properties.

He is very valuable to Williams, though, and team manager Vowles has been complimenting his lead driver.

He told Motorsport.com, “I’ve known Alex for about eight years, and I couldn’t wait to come here and rekindle that relationship that we had before.” “He is really quick and has the appropriate attitude, which is incredibly vital for any driver to maximize their potential, not just for him.

“I don’t think he’s the same driver I started with in Bahrain if you look at him over the course of a year and even have an honest conversation with him. Without a doubt, he made the most of the car and has truly grown over the season.

His amazing drives this year put us in eighth place. Although the team performed an excellent job of assembling and aligning the car, he was frequently trailed by four or six other cars that were chasing him the entire distance. That is really amazing.

The way Albon goes about his work, especially the “no politics” tenet, has impressed Vowles the most. Nevertheless, given that rival teams are already rumored to be interested in Albon, Vowles believes we haven’t seen the best of their driver yet, which will probably heighten interest.

He praised the 27-year-old, saying, “What I like about him is he hasn’t stopped growing yet.” “He’s still growing up, but I also appreciate that he doesn’t have any political views. It works so beautifully, in my opinion, because all he wants to do is hop in the car and go.
